Womens Self Defense Stressing preventive measures and repetative drilling is a good approach to women's self defense. Everyone has a sixth sense, that very loud alarm that goes off in the back of your head. Statistics show that a very high percentage of women that have been assulted knew something was wrong, knew something wasn't quite right, knew the situation they were in was a little odd. That was your sixth sense saying "get out of there."
This story is true, it is graphic and violent. While in high school one of my best friends had a cousin named Missy Johnson. She was attending St Cloud State. She was either a kindergarten teacher or was studying to become one. On a midnight walk with her roommates dog, a scumbag by the name of Scott Edward Stuart, a twice convicted sex offender, pulled up along side her, started to talk to her (mistake #1), pointed a gun at her and told her to get into the car (mistake #2), she got into the car (mistake #3). He tied her up, took her to the woods, raped and almost severed her head from her body.
How to properly address this situation: Mistake #1, run. Mistake #2, run. When you're in the car, fight like hell, get out and run. I don't know, I wasn't there, but I bet she went into shock and her fight or flight shut down.
Chances are traditional or modern karate, MMA, boxing, thai boxing, kenpo or any other martial art does not teach you what to do in this scenario. Jab, cross, right kick won't do if you can't function. Defending yourself should be as natural as breathing. You need to create situations and drill at least 10,000 times of repetitive chaotic escape scenarios. That is what is required for a woman to properly respond. When men fight, it is usually for bragging rights or for fun. When women are assaulted it's for a different reason, much more serious.
Scott Edward Stuart released 7/4/91, twice convicted sex offender, killed only five days after his release.
Wake up liberal Minnesota! Lock these guys up for good. They only get worse. Dru Sjodin, Katie Poirier, and the whole Groene family in Idaho were all killed by released sex offenders from Minnesota.
For those of you who think that I have gotten off the beaten path of women's self defense, I have not. For I always stress preventive measures first and having to defend yourself physically second. And as a civilized society, we must take preventive measures to protect ourselves. If we all banded together and demanded that our laws be changed, so these creeps did not get a second, third and fourth chance to rape and murder, we as society would have taken the preventive measures to defend ourselves.
